We are looking for PhD Students!

We are looking for PhD students from biomedical engineering, computer engineering, electrical/electronics engineering, physics, mathematics or a related field with research interests in neuroinformatics, cognitive neuroscience and/or multimodal neuroimaging. This position has a duration of 3-4 years.

Our group studies the human neural bases of social-emotion and cognition and the associated vulnerability patterns in normal people and specially in aging.

Multimodal neuroimaging and psychophysical techniques are employed, including magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), functional MRI, diffusion tensor imaging, and electroencephalography (EEG). We are interested in developing computational methods to examine the network-level structural and functional brain connectivity to shed light on the neurobiological mechanism of disease, paving the way for early detection and intervention. We are interested in developing new mathematical and statistical techniques for processing neurofeedback in real time using fMRI and EEG and further application in clinical setting to modify altered brain circuits.

Key attractions are access to a 3T GE MR scanner and a MR compatible digital EEG system as well as collaboration opportunities with an excellent network of domestic and international scientists and doctors.

To apply, send a cover letter, a resume, and a letter of recommendation to Wendy (contact@neuroinformatics-collaboratory.org). The position will remain open until filled, and the likely start date will be in August every year.

Please refer to the university web page for more information about the PhD applications in UESTC (foreign).
